Steve Miller Band

It all began in 1965 when Steve Miller and keyboardist Barry Goldberg founded the Goldberg-Miller Blues Band after moving to Chicago to play the blues. The band was contracted to Epic Records after playing many Chicago clubs. They also appeared on Hullabaloo with the Four Tops and the Supremes, and gigged at a Manhattan club. Then Steve broke away and pursued the psychedelic scene in San Francisco where he formed The Steve Miller Band as a back up band for greats such as Chuck Berry at the Filmore West. Guitarist Boz Scaggs joined the band and they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival in June 67 and then in 1968 his billboard hit Living in the USA off his Sailor Album climbed up the Billboard charts to number twenty-four. Each album he began to put out expanded his audiences more and more hit after hit. His tour is always a treat to see live as his hits from The Joker to Fly Like an Eagle to Rock n Me are all of classic rock's most treasured hits.
