Yo-Yo Ma

This classical cellist played his heart to president John F. Kennedy at the age of 7 and the next year appeared with his sister at a concert conducted by Leonard Bernstein. Yo-Yo (Born October 7th, 1955) can only thank his parents for immigrating to America from Paris, France at the tender age of 5 where his amazing career began. He studied the violin and viola and then found himself in his present instrument the cello. Yo-Yo Grew up in a household full of musicians with his mother a singer and his father a professor of music and professional violinist. His impressive schooling background from Julliard to Harvard and spending many summers playing in the Marlboro Festival Orchestra. Yo-Yo was named Peace Ambassador by the UN in 2006 and in 2009 President Obama appointed him on the committee of Arts and Humanities.
